Myriad Congratulates Finalists of the Best Mobile Handset and Device Categories at Mobile World Congress Awards 2010

DUEBENDORF-ZURICH, Switzerland Myriad Group AG, a global leader in mobile technology with software in over 2 billion phones, and sponsor of the prestigious GSMA Best Handset and Device Awards, congratulates all the Mobile World Congress 2010 Award finalists announced yesterday. The company also announces the first ever “after show” Myriad Winners’ Party to be held at the National Palace following the Awards celebration.
Shortlisted companies in the Myriad-sponsored Handset category include: Research in Motion for the Blackberry Bold 9700, HTC for the Hero, Nokia for the N97 Mini, Huawei for the T-Mobile Pulse and Samsung with two nominations for both the Toco Lite, and OMNIA HD.
In congratulating all the handset award nominees, Myriad is also proud to be associated with the HTC Hero device, supplying several software components including Jbed (Java), MMS and Instant Messenger (IM) technologies to operators around the world.
Shortlisted companies in the Myriad-sponsored Connected Device category include: Powermat with the Powermat Home & Office and Powermat Portable, Novatel Wireless, Inc. with the MiFi Intelligent Mobile Hotspot, Sagem with the Orga NFC active Sticker and Huawei with two nominations for both the Wireless Modem E5 and the Home Media Centre.
The winners of both awards will be announced at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona on Tuesday February 16th. The Best Handset winner is one of only three awards to be announced at the Party & Awards Celebration at the National Palace, hosted by Stephen Fry and culminating in a headline performance by Duran Duran.
