Multiplan Gateway and Virtual Switchboard Help Telenor Denmark meet Telco 2.0 Goals

Trondheim, Norway, February 8 2010:

Gintel AS, a leading vendor of hosted enterprise software solutions, today announced that it has been selected by Telenor Denmark to deliver core technology and components for Telenor Denmark’s new Mobile Multiplan service.

Gintel is delivering two critical elements for the Mobile Multiplan service to Telenor Denmark. First, the MultiPlan Gateway (MPGW) allows both internal and partner applications to access resources within the Telenor Denmark network via a standard API enabler interface. The interface provides information on mobile terminal state and location, as well as providing call handling capabilities. The API is harmonised with similar initiatives across the Telenor group.

“We are delighted to have been chosen by Telenor Denmark” said Ernst Thue, CEO of Gintel. “It leverages and extends our successful work in other parts of the Telenor Group and demonstrates the excellence of our technology and innovations”.

Secondly, Telenor Denmark has also selected Gintel’s Mobile Switchboard Application (MOB), a web-based GUI which allows switchboard attendants to monitor employee present and control inbound call traffic, ensuring that it is routed to the correct destination.

“As in other countries around the world, business subscribers form a valuable and important subscriber segment in Denmark. Telenor Denmark is a major provider of advanced telephony services to the enterprise market and we are actively renewing and enhancing our service offer. As part of this activity, Telenor Denmark is delivering new functionality for our subscribers, allowing them to access resources in our network and create new, blended applications via an intuitive API interface” said Peter Kaliszan of Telenor Denmark.

“We believe in the Telco 2.0 approach of exposing service enablers to third parties, in order to maximise innovation for our subscribers. The new service will leverage our core voice offer, but allow enterprises to create valuable new services and mashups with other applications”, he added.

”We selected Gintel as a vendor because of its outstanding technology and its track-record of project execution with the Telenor Group” said Peter Kaliszan. ”The new solution will create clear differentiation for our offer, as enterprises can create their own solutions which specifically meet their individual needs.

The Mobile Multiplan product improves business efficiency and reduce costs by extending the functionality of premises-based PBX and Unified Communications platforms to mobile devices. With open API access, it is expected that enterprises will customise solutions to enrich their communications and interaction between businsess processes.

Gintel will be exhibiting at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, from February 15th – 18th 2010, Hall 2, stand A67.
