Technology Releases - Mobile
F-Secure announced yesterday that the new version of F-Secure Mobile Security is available this month for the new S60 5th Edition platform. This is the latest version based on S60 Symbian OS™. S60 5th Edition brings a touch user interface to smartphone users, and F-Secure Mobile Security 5 is one of the first applications to support the new Touch UI.
Arnoud de Vaal, Solution Management Director, F-Secure Mobile Solutions
Business Unit, says: “People store their personal information such as
pictures, banking details, e-mails, business projects and other
valuable and confidential data on their smartphones so it is important
to protect your most personal computer. We are proud to be among the
first service providers to offer a touch-based solution for S60
smartphone users through mobile operator partners and F-Secure eStore."
Michael Treutner, Head of Marketing at Swisscom KMU, says: "Corporate
customers are very demanding in terms of secure mobile communication.
Due to their increasing mobility, their requirements for security
solutions are also growing. With Mobile Security 5, F-Secure offers a
service which perfectly fits these growing needs. Swisscom's
cooperation with F-Secure has a successful history: since 2005 we have
been providing all Symbian OS-based smartphones with its services,
which means we were one of the first operators globally to provide
mobile phone devices with pre-installed security software."
F-Secure Mobile Security 5 enables smartphone users to experience the
full potential of their devices without the fear of mobile threats.
F-Secure Mobile Security introduces combined real-time antivirus
functionality with a firewall, antitheft and antispyware for S60 5th
and 3rd Edition smartphones. F-Secure Mobile Security 5 introduces new
features, including a totally redesigned user interface and advanced
anti-theft features with remote lock, remote wipe and theft control
functionalities.
F-Secure Mobile Security 5 is now available through the F-Secure eStore
(http://www.f-secure.com/estore), Nokia Download! and F-Secure mobile
operator partners. It will be available for S60 5th edition smartphones
later this month through the same channels. The software will also be
available for the Windows Mobile platform later this autumn. A free
trial of the software and a full list of supported devices are both
available at the F-Secure Mobile Security portal: http://f-secure.mobi
