Style conscious consumers will be wowed this September as Samsung Electronics Australia proudly presents the Samsung PrestonICON; an intuitive and eye-catching full touch screen phone that is this season's must-have technology accessory. Slim, compact, stylish and easy-to-use, the Samsung PrestonICON is packed with multimedia features to keep fashionistas entertained and connected on-the-go.
Far from just a show pony, the Samsung PrestonICON uses Samsung’s intuitive TouchWiz User Interface to provide customisation of the phone by dragging and placing widgets on the screen for easy access, perfect for those new to the possibilities of touchphones. Boasting the innovative “Smart Unlock” feature you can unlock the phone and enter the menu directly by drawing a letter of the alphabet on the screen. Taking this feature even further, you can even set specific menu options to correspond to each letter from A to Z - like I is for Internet!
However you look at it, the Samsung PrestonICON will show you the content and pictures your way. Featuring an 'accelerometer sensor', you can view the screen portrait or landscape by tilting the screen and watching the format change!
Stylish snappers will find a convenient 3.2 mega-pixel camera equipped with features such as Smile Shot which capture you and your friends at your best - no more squinting into the sun at festivals or being caught unaware. Samsung's built-in Smile shot technology will have you smiling every time.
Not only does the Samsung PrestonICON feature an in-built MP3 player and an FM radio but you can become your own DJ and also discover new music by using the “Find Music” music recognition service. By pointing the phone at any music playing, the name of the song and artist can be identified within seconds. The Samsung PrestonICON memory (80MB and expandable microSD slot up to 8GB) ensures ample storage space for multimedia content – making it a serious choice for music, movie and photography fans.
“In a nutshell, the Samsung PrestonICON is perfect for anyone wanting a compact, stylish, easy to use touchphone. Loaded full of fun features to enhance the experience for those relatively new to touch technology, we're excited to bring this choice to the market,” said Tyler McGee, Vice President of Telecommunications, Samsung Australia.
The Samsung Preston ICON will be available on Crazy John’s, Telstra and Virgin plans from September 2009.
The Samsung PrestonICON is one of five phones launched in Australia today as part of Samsung’s new touchphone range - ICON. Please see additional materials for information about the Samsung HDICON, Samsung OMNIAICON, Samsung Galaxy ICON and the Samsung JetICON.
