Manufacturer of Texturizing and Stabilizing Products to Minimize Waste and Process Variation Using Real-time Quality Control

SOUTHFIELD, Mich. - DataNet Quality Systems (DataNet), developers of WinSPC® and QualTrend® quality control software, announced today that a leading food manufacturer has selected WinSPC software as it real-time SPC solution.

The company manufactures texturizing and stabilizing ingredients for the world's processed food industry, serving functions such as viscosity modification, thickening, suspension, stabilization, and gelation. With 3500 customers in nearly 100 countries, the company's products are used as key ingredients in foods as diverse as jams, jellies, baked goods, salad dressings, sauces, marinades, processed meats, and dairy products.

The company plans to implement WinSPC in processes for the manufacture of approximately 350 different varieties of hydrocolloids, or cellulose gum. The company's goals are to control processes variation in real time, prevent manufacturing errors, and reduce raw material waste. The company plans to use WinSPC on its fermentation and recovery, drying and milling, and packaging processes, where it measures quality parameters such as pH and viscosity, and performs sieve analysis and other visual inspections. WinSPC will be used to:

* Collect product and process data
* Monitor process variation in real time
* Alert personnel of process non-conformances
* Perform SPC analysis
* Produce quality reports
* Meet regulatory requirements

DataNet's Solution Delivery team will assist the company's quality team and process engineers in implementing WinSPC within the company's production environment. DataNet engineers will perform product training, install WinSPC, and assist in the integration of WinSPC with the company's current manufacturing system.
